Great Event!

Wow! What an amazing weekend! We welcomed over 500 people to the event! From the amazing meals, the fabulous performance by the kids performing numbers that ran through the decades, the tours of the grounds, and the incredible film and live performances in the evening. Many people re-connected with old friends and had a chance to see all the improvements at the camp. We will be continuing to share photos and videos from the event, so check back often!
Gracious thanks to all who braved the heat to attend and to the organizers, who put countless hours into making the event the great success that it was!

Tulge Koju! Tulge Pühitsema Jõekääru 60a. Juubelit!

Sel aastal tähistab Jõekääru oma 60.juubelit!

Meie suvekodu koosneb paljudest väga erilistest inimestest. Me oleme õnnelikud, et meie hulka kuuluvad paljud inimesed, kes osalesid esimesel suvekodu laagrisuvel Jõekäärul! Paljud perekonnad on hoidnud kõrgel Jõekääru suvekodu traditsioone ja nii on teine, kolmas ja juba neljas generatsioon saatnud oma lapsi laagrisse suve veetma ja perekonniti talgutel osalema. Me oleme ütlemata rõõmsad, et suvekodus kohtud uute sõpradega ja saad tuttavaks kasvandike ja kasvatajatega, kes on saabunud laagrisse Kanadast, Ameerika Ühendriikidest, Eestist ja Rootsist.

14. ja 15. juulil on sündmusterohke päev Jõekäärul:külla oodatakse kunagisi kasvandikke, endisi laagritöötajaid, et koos tänaste suvekodus osalejatega ühiselt veeta suvepäevad meie kaunis suvekodu miljöös.

Tulemas on põnev nädalavahetus, millesse mahuvad vilistlaste kokkutulek ja tänaste suvekodu kasvandike esinemine kui ka jalutuskäik ja taaskohtumine laagri keskkonnas, leides laagris kindlasti palju uut ja huvitavat. Osaledes juubelipidustustel, toetad Jõekääru suvekodu jätkuvat tegutsemist ja aitad kindlustada noorte meelispaiga kaugeleulatuvat tulevikku.

Laupäeval, 14.juulil oodatakse kõiki külalisi kella 12ks e.l. pidulikule lõunasöögile. Pealelõunat esinevad tänased suvekodu kasvandikud oma meeleoluka kavaga.Traditsioonilisele perekonnapäeva üritusele lisab hoogu ka jalutusretked laagri ümbruses koos giidiga. Toimub ka mälestustseremoonia ja puude istutamine kolme noore auks.

Õhtusöögile järgneb Valguspidu- kõrgetasemeline programm ja esilinastub suvekodu 60.tegevusaastast käsitlev film. Loomulikult esinevad tuntud laagris osalejad, nii noored kui staažikad mitmetest bändidest.

Valguspeo lõpetab tants ja suurlõke.

Pühapäeval, 15.juunil toimub jumalateenistus kell 11e.l.Juubelipidustused jätkuvad karnevali rütmis kuni 4.30 p.l.

Come Home! Come and Celebrate Jõekääru's 60th year!

Our camp is made up of so many wonderful people. We are lucky to include in our community many of the campers who attended the very first camp at Jõekääru! Many families have kept the camping tradition alive and are sending second, third or even fourth generations to work and play at Jõekääru. We have also thoroughly enjoyed meeting new faces and welcoming campers and staff from all over Canada, the United States, Estonia, and Sweden.

On Saturday July 14, and Sunday July 15, our goal is to host a weekend where all previous and current camper and staff families can come together to reconnect with each other and our special camp environment.

We are planning an exciting day on Saturday that will include trips down memory lane as well as opportunities to explore the amazing recent developments and improvements. Finally, by attending this fundraising weekend, you will play an important role in supporting the future of Jõekääru Summer Camp!

A full day of events is planned for the Saturday, with Sunday being more of an informal time to reconnect, including a Carnival for the kids.

On Saturday, there will be a delicious lunch
In the afternoon, the current campers will present their program (including songs and dances), and visitors will have a chance to tour the grounds.

The flags will be lowered and there will be a memorial tree planting for three young people who we have lost from the Jõekääru family.

A supper will be followed by a hi-tech program that will feature a film about the past 60 years of camp, as well as presentations by campers through the ages and performances by musical groups.

Finally, there will be a dance for the campers and a big campfire for the adults!

On Sunday, we will have a Church service at 11 am, followed by a Carnival running from 12:30-4:30 as a celebration of the 60th!

We look forward to celebrating this milestone together with you!
